Board of Directors

Unpaid*

Location: Board Meetings held in Alloa

Closing date: Midnight – 1st December 2017

Can you bring your energy and vision to a well-established, innovative and successful Forth Valley charity providing a range of Prison, Community and Outreach drug, alcohol, substance misuse, health & well-being and social care services in the local authority areas of Clackmannanshire, Falkirk and Stirling (Forth Valley). Signpost Recovery are actively seeking new members to join our Board of Directors.

We are recruiting up to four new board members and are looking for individuals whose knowledge and experience will both complement and add new knowledge and perspective to the current Board of Directors. Whilst we recognise that everyone has the ability to contribute, we are specifically looking for knowledge and skills in one or more of the following areas: substance misuse, finance, fund raising, social enterprise, health and safety, community development and business development.

Directors are expected to meet bi-monthly on a Thursday evening in our Alloa premises. However, there may be occasions throughout the year, whereby there are additional meetings or committee’s to attend. In addition to attending meetings, we encourage our directors to take an active interest in our day-to-day operations. This can include involvement in specific projects or pieces of work as required by the organisation and agreed by the Board. This is a voluntary role but we will meet reasonable expenses such as childcare and/or the transportation costs of attendance at meetings or Board events.

If you are committed to excellence in the provision of ‘Third Sector’ health and social care services and are motivated to play a leading part in an entrepreneurially led charitable organisation, we would like to hear from you.

We are keen that the composition of our Board reflects the diversity of our local communities and we are particularly keen to hear from people whom have lived experience of substance misuse of service delivery. For further details on the role and how to apply, please see the attached ‘Information for Prospective Board Members’ document available to download from this site. If you would like to have an informal discussion on becoming a member of the Signpost Recovery Board of Director’s, please contact Colin Bennie, Chair, Signpost Recovery on 07468863944. Please complete the attached application and return to info@signpostrecovery.org.uk.
